About

Who I Am & How I Practice

As a therapist, I will affirm the person you are in this moment and the person you want to grow into. In our society, teenagers often do not get their voices heard and opinions valued. I will place your perspective, needs, and goals at the center of our work together. I will also place our work in a political context, bringing our identities and experiences into the room, and exploring how experiences of oppression and privilege may have shaped the challenges you are facing in your life right now. I will help you build the skills to listen to your body, trust the wisdom of what you are feeling, and build the internal and external supports to weather difficult times. As a trauma-informed provider, I will help us move at a pace that feels safe and supportive to you, and honor the wisdom that your body holds in working to keep you safe. I believe that our relationships matter, and that they can be a source of meaning – looking at how they have formed us over time, how they are changing, and how we want them to look in the future. I will help you imagine the future you want, understanding the tools and strengths that your past has provided you with, and exploring what wants to change. While the outcome of our work will always be shaped by your goals and priorities, my hope is that in seeking therapy, you can experience greater freedom, choice, and self-love as you navigate life experiences. I prioritize work with adolescents and emerging adults, as well as individuals who identify as neurodivergent and/or LGBTQIA+. About me: I’m a licensed social worker (LICSW) focusing on individual therapeutic work with teens and young/emerging adults. I am a queer, white, Jewish person with mixed Eastern European and Sicilian heritage, and experience my gender as fluid and continually evolving. I am comfortable with they/them or she/her pronouns. I have over nine years of experience as a social worker, mostly in public schools supporting students who were struggling with the expectations of the traditional school environment. From this work I learned that two key ingredients are necessary to create change: a caring and accepting relational "home base," and empathetic curiosity about the environmental factors at play. I bring a multifaceted lens that understands the impact of trauma and chronic stress, and that celebrates diversity while understanding how systemic oppression impacts those of us with marginalized identities. I love looking at a problem from many different angles and approaches in order to understand all the layers & experiences that have often brought us to something that feels like a crisis. I also bring a developmental lens, understanding that adolescents and emerging adults have specific strengths and needs. From my school-based experience, I am well equipped to address school-related issues such as school refusal, learning differences, and other concerns specific to the school environment. I graduated from Bryn Mawr's Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research (Clinical Concentration) in 2015. Before entering the social work field, I facilitated after school spaces for teens to make art and build community. Since 2016, I’ve organized with various groups for racial and economic justice, including Resource Generation. I believe that individual healing can shape our ability to show up in right relationship to ourselves, our relationships, communities, and lineages.
